3.8

A full moonlit night - stairway to heaven, each step is higher than its predecessor by 3.8 cm (1.5 in) as the distance by which the Moon moves away from the Earth each year. Twelve white concrete stairs are laid according to the movement of the Moon. The first step is sunk in the ground 3.8 cm, and it moves forward in time toward the coming year. The second stair does not exist; it is the "here and now," and each following stair is a return one year back, each stair draws back, closer to the Moon.
