The Meetings' Set
At the Art School Exhibition - 70 years of the Midrasha at the Helena Rubinstein Art Pavilion for Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv Museum, we recreated the square located at the Midrasha. The exhibit dealt with the role of an artistic institution and the spaces of which it is comprised. Avi Lubin, the exhibition's curator, invited us to create the cafeteria. Conceiving one of the roles of the cafeteria at an artistic institution as that of a meeting place, we chose to create a space that would constitute a basis for meetings and hanging out. We created the square from wood, curbstones, synthetic grass, and a coffee stand that we operated throughout the entire exhibition. Much to our joy, the square operated as a public space, children played on the grass, adults met for coffee. A variety of spontaneous activities were conducted, such as classes, performances, and demonstrations, etc.
The work was created in cooperation with Noa Gross.
